Back in the 60s and 70s hippies were known for being fun-lover junkies. To this day, they are mainly known for their protests of peace, the strive for love, and their usage of drugs. 50% of the Horizon school population know hippies for peace, 20% for love, and 30% for drugs

Today, Horizon High School celebrates hippie day for spirit week.”Hippie Day is awesome,” sophomore Sean Sullivan said.

As we look around there are John Lennon glasses, tye-dye shirts, and “flower-power.” “I’m not into the whole hippie day thing, but if they had a scene day that’d be awesome!” said Jazmine Barrientos.
Only about 11% took part in hippie day.

“Feels like I’m in Boulder,” sophomore Caleb K said.
